Feeds Are Fixed! | Our Histories, Ourselves | Thanksgiving Ontology | They Are the Herd

Blogging continues at my new blog: micahtillman.com

Thanks to Vance at Meditations on an Eyeball, I believe I have now fixed my feeds (http://feeds.feedburner.com/micahtillman, or http://micahtillman.com/feed?=rss2).

For Christians, Scientists, Philosophers, and Cultures, there are different ways of understanding the shape of history (is it an upward, downward, or crooked line? Is there a Fall or a Return? Etc.). Here’s what they are and why they matter: Our Histories, Ourselves, Our Histories, Ourselves [2], Our Histories, Ourselves [3]

Speaking of history, I have a few things to say about the history of rock-n-roll in my post on Queen and the Chili Peppers in the News.

And I have some non-ironic things to say about two exciting things in the world of science: Feelin’ Good About Science Today!

In honor of Thanksgiving, there’s something everybody should understand about what it takes for thankfulness to occur: The Ontology of Thanksgiving

I provide an update regarding the recording activities of Saints & Children.

And finally, I argue that traffic jams prove world peace is impossible: They Are the Herd

The Pen Is Mightier | Our Histories, Ourselves | Queen and the Chili Peppers

The conversations continue at micahtillman.com:

Two groups whose usefulness to society has frequently been questioned have recently been flexing their muscles: The Pen Is Mightier

In the modern era, most philosophers took "everyone has Reason" as their principle. Nietzsche had a different approach to defining humanity. (First in a two-part series): Our Histories, Ourselves

In the news today are two amusing, perhaps fascinating, stories about rock-n-roll. Ties in with, ironically, with the "Our Histories, Ourselves" thing: Queen and the Chili Peppers in the News

Climate, Prophets, Atheism, Presidents, & Privilege

As blogging continues at my new site, micahtillman.com, I wanted to keep things interesting over here. So the following are my four most recent posts:

First, on the latest IPCC climate change report: Congratulations to the Prophets

Second, on John Polkinghorne's review of some books on atheism (and a discussion of the Problem of Evil): Polkinghorne on Dawkins, Cornwell, and Humphrys

Third, on the reasons I think that Ron Paul and Lou Dobbs should get together: Ron Paul and Lou Dobbs: The Perfect Ticket

And fourth, a few comments and questions on "privilege": Confusion About the Term “Underprivileged”

New site: micahtillman.com

My lovely wife, web goddess that she is, has provided me a domain name all my own:

I'll be posting there from now on :-)

Interpretation vs. Application, and King James English

People talk about interpreting things (statements, scriptures, constitutions, etc.), and I think that's a big problem. So, inspired by a Rush Limbaugh gaffe, I've written a post on the solution: Interpretations Are Bad (and Applications Are Good)

People also enjoy speaking King James English, but often get it hilariously wrong. So once again I come to the rescue with: A Quick Lesson in King James English

Representation and Christian Russia

With the recent elections and polls and media coverage reflecting dissatisfaction with our "elected representatives," I thought it would be a good time to ask: What Does “Representation” Mean?

I, honestly, can't figure it out.

On another note, there's some tense/strange stuff going on: Christian Craziness in Russia
